Octavia Reese (she/they), founder of Octech Health, is a healthcare informatics experience designer, author, artist, dancer, cellist and mom.

A multipotentialite visionary, Octavia resides at the intersection of product design, innovative marketing, data analytics, and machine learning, to create empathetic human-centered digital experiences that organically attract and retain engagement.

Octavia is a seasoned strategist with over 15 years of experience in program and product design, strategic direction, project planning, writing, curriculum development, content management, adult learning, and technical training.

Octavia’s super power is ideation — taking trending social behaviors and applying them to healthcare to improve user experiences from all perspectives, especially the patient and the provider, while specifically targeting improving the quality of life for People of Color, women, immigrants, and people from the LGBTQ community.

Octavia is also the author of a young adult sci-fi fantasy series, The Hibouleans, featuring heroic and brilliant women of color and she’s also composed a musical score to accompany the series. Octavia scored a short-film, which was featured at IndieNight Film Festival in Hollywood in 2020 and is a summer 2021 artist-in-residence at Chateaux d’Orquevaux in France.

Octavia is also a single mom of three boys, performs with Desueño Dance Company, and is also known for serving as Miss Michigan 2005 and competing for Miss America. Octavia is currently a healthcare informatics Masters candidate at Northwestern University, specializing in global healthcare technology UX design.
